Felt Creations

One Sunday, there was a little girl who was really sad and bored. She had spent the entire time at church begging her Mommy to leave so she could go home and play her video game.  Her Mommy decided that maybe this little girl needed a day or two break from her video games because it was interfering with her ability to think about and do other things.

The little girl cried and cried and begged and begged, but to no avail.  She was bored and sad and couldn’t focus on anything but the lack of ability to get on her tablet and play the animal dress up game that the had downloaded earlier that week.

She had a brother though, who might as well have been a knight in shining armor.  He disappeared in the Mommy’s bedroom (the room where Mommy keeps her spare fabric bag), and reappeared a while later with many little pieces of felt.  The Mommy asked the eldest child in the family to help the brother with the hot glue gun, and this is what they created.

While the brother was creating, he created a felt “doll” for himself as well, and this is what he came up with.

Connor and Sonic

With their new toys complete, the day was saved. Both brother and sister were able to get on with their day and spend the rest of it wrapped up in pretend play with their “new toys.”  This Momma knew that taking a rest from the video games had brought out great creativity in the brother, and cherished the brother’s heart for his sister.
