Apologetics Study Bible for Students {A Flyby Promotions Review}

Apologetics Study Bible for Students

Are you looking for a strong study Bible for your teenager?  Are you wanting to help them answer questions about their faith and defend their faith?  Then, The Apologetics Study Bible for Students HCSB might be for your and your child.

This Bible will ground your teens in the truths of scripture and will equip them with thoughtful and practical resources to help them navigate important issues in faith and life.  It’s a study Bible where every resource is built in to help your child defend his faith.

Some of the features of The Apologetics Study Bible include:

  • Introductions to each of the books of the Bible
  • Study notes throughout the Bible to provide evidence of the reliability and truthfulness of scripture
  • Articles written on leading Christian thinkers dealing with some of life important questions and the Bible’s answers
  • Twisted scripture insets that discuss ways that other faiths/religious movements distort scripture to support their teachings.
  • Bone and dirt insets feature important archaeological discoveries
  • Notable quotes from influential people throughout history
  • Tactics ot equip students to withstand opposition to Christianity.  These insets give them tactics and strategies for handling commonly heard anti-Christian arguments
  • Personal stories to encourage and strengthen readers in their faith
  • Top five bullet point lists that will help readers remember significant apologetics topics.

All these features and the Bible itself comes with easily readable fonts and the pages are lovely the way they are designed and organized.  The translation used is the Holman Christian Standard Version and it is easily readable.  In addition, there are tabs for quickly finding the books of the Bible.

In addition to the resources contained inside the Bible, the publishers are spending the summer and fall publishing 16 weeks of short teaching videos to share insight and teaching on questions such as “Is it okay to have doubts?,” “Does the Bible demean women?” and “Why does God allow evil?”  I’ve watched a couple of the videos over the past week or so, and I found Sean McDowell’s tone to be wise and comforting.  I also found that he packs a great deal of wisdom and knowledge into these short videos.  They would be great to share with your child or to use as part of a lesson in teaching.

When I received the Bible, I had originally planned to give it to Firecracker to use.  He’s ten and I’m beginning to expose him to resources to teach him that there are other viewpoints than the one that his father and I have so diligently taught him over the past ten years.  I want him to know from me that there are other ways of thinking and other ideas, and I don’t want them to come as a complete surprise.  I was totally unprepared though for how much I would love this Bible.  When it came in and I started flipping through it, I found that although the questions were relevant to Firecracker and his stages of spiritual growth that this Bible would also be a helpful resource to refer to as I’m preparing lessons for my middle/high school Bible study classes and for my elementary aged Sunday classes.  So, this Bible is going to be a resource for the whole family!

I want to help give the children that I am raising and the children that I teach the gift of a confident faith.  Not a faith without doubts.  A faith that faces doubts head-on and finds the evidence that it needs to validate the Bible as truth.  B&H Publishing also wants to give students the gift of a confident faith.  As they release the new teaching videos and promote this Bible, they are also having a Confident Faith Sweepstakes.  You can go to their website and enter to win prizes like Bibles, a mini apologetics library and even a trip to the National Conference on Christian Apologetics.
