I started this week with one more day before the big kids came home from the beach. So, Hubby took a day off of work and we took the little kids to the Creative Discovery Museum in Chattanooga. It’s a really fun place to run around and play, so if you’ll indulge me for a few minutes, I’m going to share several photo collages.
I promise that I’ll try to do a more informative post about the children’s museum later to help those who might be nearby and trying to decide whether a visit is worth the money or not. In the mean time, you can see all the fun they had and keep in mind that there were several areas of the museum that we didn’t even visit this trip!
Finally, however the big kids were home. They got home just in time for Rockfest at the Tellus Museum in Cartersville. My little kids are finally big enough to participate in the kids’ museum activities. So they enjoyed making pet rocks, making a bag to carry their rocks in and playing in the dinosaur dig area.
We did some KinderBach this week. We only did one lesson and it focused on hearing the difference between forte and piano. If you think you might be interested in KinderBach, you can read the review here that I did back in February. We’ve been using and enjoying this curriculum for almost six months now.
Monkey has been printable craft crazy this week. I’ve visited the lovely Learn Create Love almost every day this week to print off some craft or another. It all started with these printable Angry Bird Crafts.
Then it spread on to community helpers. The next thing I knew we had firemen and firetrucks, policemen and police cars, farmers and tractors, nurses and hospitals, etc. It gave us a good opportunity to discuss these professions and talk about the different jobs that are important in our community. That actually made up a big part of our schooling week!
I keep thinking that we’re going to start a unit on Noah’s Ark, but I don’t have anything really planned out for them yet, so we’ll just see what next week holds 🙂
