We did a project project that I’ve seen all over the internet for moon phases today. In this project, you open Oreos and take off the right amount of cream filling to represent the moon phases. You can see what those moon phases are here.
It was a lot of fun for the kids. Firecracker actually paid attention to his moon phases and took the project seriously.
Then we photographed each Oreo to make moon phase cards for him to turn into his school when he turns in his lap book. I’m going to print them 2 X 3 and put them in a pocket after he labels the phases again on the cards.
The main draw for Rose was getting to eat Oreos. Of course, we couldn’t keep Owlet out of the project. Maybe it was because we were playing with cookies?
